Notice Description

Wolverhampton Council on behalf of a residential homeowner are seeking tenders for the construction of the single storey extension to 12, Fleming Road, Walsall, WS2 7DJ. The construction is to include for the removal of vegetation over the footprint of the new extension including excavating and disposal off site of excavated material. Breaking through existing structure, and all necessary items to enable the proposed works. For the substructure, a raft slab is recommended although the successful Contractor is to appoint his own structural engineer to advise and provide details for all building control approval(s). Walls are to be constructed of cavity wall construction and to receive a render finish to match the existing finish. Construction of walls to comply with Building Regulations. Roof tiles to match existing. Note underside of truss will be required to accommodate loading for track hoist - details on Architectural drawings (PP17113 -3- Architects Drawings). UPVc windows and external doors include ventilation requirements and security as in specification standard. Internal doors and skirting's, appropriate fire doors where required and ironmongery. Decoration and floor coverings as scheduled. Supply and installation of sanitary and white good fittings including 'Doc M pack' as specified, assisted baths, hoist system to areas specified-note ceiling to be designed to accommodate additional loading. All drainage to comply with building regulations, all connected to existing, new inspection chamber, allow for relocating existing to enable new works, rebuild existing to suit new works requirements. Central heating system to be re-viewed , heating controls, radiators, thermostatic valves renewed as required. Low energy fitting to new works, smoke detectors, earthing/bonding and full compliance with Electrical regulations. The proposed contract for the works is JCT Intermediate Building Contract with contractor's design, 2016 Edition and the successful contractor will need to have previous experience in utilising this form and it is assumed that tenderers will have a copy of the contract within there possession for tendering purposes. The Council/Client will be awarding this requirement to a single supplier who will be responsible for the entire delivery of the remitted works.
