Summary of the contracting process

The Nottinghamshire County Council is currently in the planning stage of a tender titled "Market engagement for proposed Therapeutic services framework for children adopted and placed on special guardianship order in the AEM region". This procurement initiative aims to develop a framework for therapeutic services to support children in adoption and special guardianship placements within the East Midlands region. The engagement period is set to conclude on 19th March 2021, with an early engagement notice published on 4th March 2021. The procurement process falls under social work services, classified under the CPV code 85312000.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that specialise in therapeutic assessments and interventions. With an estimated rise in demand for therapeutic services as the number of adoptions increases, businesses in social work, counselling, and related therapeutic fields would be well-positioned to participate and contribute ideas during this soft market testing phase. Engaging in this process could provide valuable insights and potential contracts to support children's welfare within the community.

Notice Title

Market engagement for proposed Therapeutic services framework for children adopted and placed on special guardianship order in the AEM region

Notice Description

The Council is undertaking a soft market testing exercise and is asking organisations to submit comments & ideas to support and shape the development of the Therapeutic Services Framework. The framework will provide AEM and LA Partners with Therapeutic Providers who can provide high quality assessments and therapeutic interventions in accordance with the Adoption Support Fund criteria In the year 2019/20, approximately 450 applications were made to the Adoption Support Fund in order to commission a specialist assessment or therapeutic intervention for adoptive families. Going forward, AEM place on average 140 children for adoption per annum. With the inclusion of applications to support SGO families, we anticipate that this figure will increase incrementally year on year and estimate this to be by approximately 25% in 2021/22.
