Provision of On Trade and Off Trade Data for Alcoholic Beverages.

Notice Description

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) wishes to make estimates of household expenditure on alcoholic beverages as a component of National Accounts and is published separately in Consumer Trends, see link. https://www.ons.gov.uk/search?q=consumer+trends+Q2+2017 To assist in these estimates it wishes to establish fully representative prices of all categories of alcoholic beverages purchased for personal consumption within the United Kingdom. Only purchases made by individuals, from legitimate outlets are to be recorded in the estimates. The ONS will combine this price data with volume data received from HM Customs and Excise to derive final estimates of household expenditure on alcoholic beverages in the UK. The contractor will supply price and volume data to the ONS to fulfil the price requirement of these estimates. This data should represent all sales of alcoholic beverages by organisations directly to the households, non household expenditure is not to be included. A survey of alcohol consumption from households will not match the data requirements. The requirement is split into Lots - Lot 1 = Provision of data for off Trade Alcoholic Beverages Lot 2 = Provision of data for on Trade Alcoholic Beverages The Bidder can bid for Lot 1 or Lot 2 or both Lots. Data for both Lot 1 and Lot 2 is periodically shared with other Government Departments such as HMRC at the discretion of the ONS. The contract will be initially for a period of two years with the option of a further 2 year extension.
