Wirral Council has a requirement for the acquisition of stair lifts, vertical lifts, ceiling track hoists, ramps, step lifts and automatic door openers, to allow those individuals who meet the necessary criteria to be assisted in retaining their independence, and to contribute to enabling the individual remaining within their property and in the community. The aim is to promote the provision of high quality services and support which enable older/disabled people to live as independently as possible in a suitable and safe environment and ensure that services are organised around them and are responsive to their needs.
