Summary of the contracting process

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is currently seeking to procure three Intrinsically Safe Hydraulic Power Packs, with the option for an additional three in the following financial year, 2018-19, subject to budget availability. This tender falls under the goods classification, specifically focusing on hydraulic power packs, and is taking place in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of the United Kingdom. The open procurement process closes on 3rd October 2017, with the contract period commencing on 1st November 2017 and extending until 31st March 2019. Interested suppliers should ensure compliance with UK and European legislation regarding safety standards in potentially hazardous environments.

This procurement opportunity presents significant potential for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing and supply sectors, particularly those specialising in durable, weather-resistant equipment suitable for marine applications. Companies capable of providing high-quality components that can withstand extreme temperatures and corrosive conditions are encouraged to participate in the tender process. The contract not only supports immediate sales for hydraulic power packs but also opens avenues for ongoing relationships with a key governmental agency, enhancing business growth prospects in the public sector.

Notice Title

Intrinsically Safe Hydraulic Power Packs

Notice Description

Text to be corrected in the original notice: Place of text to be modified: After "The MCA wishes to purchase..." AND after "...intrinsically safe..." Instead of: "...3..." AND "...for operation in potentially hazardous atmospheres, complying with..." Read: "...up to three..." AND "...for Zone 2 hazardous areas, complying with..." Other additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The MCA wishes to purchase three Intrinsically Safe Hydraulic Power Packs with the option to purchase a further 3 systems in the Financial year 2018-19. There is no guarantee of placing this further order as it will be subject to budget availability. The Power Packs will be required to be intrinsically safe for Zone 1 Hazardous Areas, complying with UK and European Legislation. The Power Packs will be used outside in marine environments and will therefore need to be constructed of durable weather/salt water resistant materials and components, and be operable in the extremes of temperature foreseeable in the UK climate.
