Summary of the contracting process

Suffolk County Council (Directorates) is inviting tenders for the "Social Care Community Support Rolling Select List," aimed at providing various support services for children and young people under the care of their Disabled Children and Young People's Team (DCYP). This procurement, classified under the health and social work services category, is being managed through an open procedure above the threshold and will be active until 31 March 2027. The opportunity encompasses four lots: support within a family or residential setting for disabled children, proactive support to families to prevent care admission, crisis support in residential settings, and supervised family time support. Interested providers can apply to join or amend their participation annually, with notifications sent by the end of the calendar month following their submission. The procurement aligns with the Light Touch Regime under the Public Contract Regulations 2015, and the start date for the contract is 1 April 2027.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in social care and support services, particularly those focusing on children with disabilities, crisis intervention, and family support. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to apply, creating a platform for growth and expanding their service offerings within the Suffolk region. The nature of the support required, particularly in specialised care, suggests a good fit for entities with trained staff capable of providing personal care, administering medication, and managing crisis situations. Engaging in this contract will not only contribute to stabilising vulnerable families but also open avenues for long-term collaboration with Suffolk County Council.
