Notice Title

ESC20145 - Home Truths

Notice Description

As part of the Research function we offer energy innovators and other customers access to a panel of respondents in order to obtain consumer feedback. The main reason why the panel has been built is the lack of, accessible or publicly available, end user, customers "behind the meter" information. If organisations are developing new products and services, the customer needs to be at the heart of their thinking, or at the very least be taken into consideration. Historically we have used a combination of software packages as the panel has grown and the internal and external requirements have developed. Initially the Consumer Insight team "piggy backed" the marketing communications software to send out emails and attach separate questionnaire links. This method of managing the communications and questionnaire data has meant a variety of unlinked data and databases being used. The manual process of de-duplicating and cleansing data still lends itself to a variety of errors and miscommunication. ESC has been using a more integrated research and database software package which reduces the number of manual interventions and has reduced the number of human errors in the processes of running a research panel including database management, respondents management and the ability to access data quickly.
