Summary of the contracting process

The London Ambulance Service NHS Trust is inviting tenders for the provision of Taxi/Private Hire Vehicle Services to facilitate the transport of patients and staff across Greater London. The tender was published on 31 October 2019 and is currently active, employing a selective procurement method through a restricted procedure. The deadline for submissions is set for 26 November 2019. The contract is expected to commence on 1 April 2020 and will last until 31 March 2023. The procurement falls under the services category with a focus on non-scheduled passenger transport.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the transportation sector, particularly those specialising in non-emergency medical transport and taxi services. Companies that can offer a reliable booking system for pre-booked services, whether online or via telephone, will be well-positioned to compete effectively. With an average usage of 1,700 taxi journeys per month by the contracting authority, there is potential for a steady stream of work for selected providers who can meet the required standards of service across the 24-hour operational needs in London.
