Tintagel Castle Footbridge

Notice Description

Construction of new pedestrian footbridge between the mainland and island wards of Tintagel Castle, to include: Pre-Construction Stage: The pre-construction contractor will provide expert advice on the project to include the bridge designs, construction methodology and programme. They will play a key part on the project team and help to develop a deliverable project. The aim is to work in a collaborative fashion to ensure the project develops in the best way possible, in terms of buildability, programme, quality and cost. The specific duties under the PCA are set out in the attached PCA Project Brief. Please note, the contractor is not guaranteed the contract to deliver the bridge works. This contract is dependent on the successful negotiation of the contract sum as set in the ITT, Conditions of Contract and PCA Brief. The final contract sum will be negotiated via an open book process as described in the PCA brief and in line with the attached Government Guidance Note (Appendix 3) Construction Stage: All ground works, inclusive of bridge foundation rock anchors, accompanying prior archaeological excavations and cliff stabilisation works. All specialist steel work, constituting the fabrication and assembly of all bridge components. All associated landscape works to bridge abutments and laying of bridge deck; Erection of all temporary works including, site compound, proposed cable crane and any necessary adaptation of the site access roads;; Management of the whole construction operation/site, to include interaction with the general public.
