AWARDED AS A DIRECT AWARD UNDER THE SERVERS, STORAGE & SOLUTIONS NATIONAL AGREEMENT (SSSNA) Lot 3B (2016/S 061-103632) The Scientific Computing Department in the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) spearheads the exploitation of e-infrastructure throughout the council's programmes, the research communities they support and the national science and engineering base. A key part of this programme is the provision of High Performance Compute clusters, including the Scientific Computing and Applications Resource for Facilities (SCARF). STFC requires an expansion to its SCARF cluster to supplement its compute capability, in order to enable the service to continue providing cutting edge HPC technology and to keep up with its expanding user base.
