Notice Title

Brackenhurst Equine Arena Surface

Notice Description

At Nottingham Trent University (NTU) Brackenhurst campus, our outdoor arena is essential to accommodate timetabled riding sessions for our Further Education and Higher Education courses. A specialised, all weather riding surface is essential for activities involving exercising horses, including riding lessons, training horses and data collection for research. In addition, the outdoor arena is used extensively throughout the year for commercial activities, as well as by the student liveries (as part of their livery package). High performing riding surfaces ensure that the University is providing a safe environment for horses and riders. A consistent performing surface will support the longevity of the horses' working life, reduce injuries and allow the horses to perform with confidence. Consistent and high performing surfaces, support higher quality, robust data collected, ensuring research with impact can be carried out. Positive resource comparison with our competitors can encourage recruitment and raise the profile of the Equine Unit and the wider University.
