Notice Description

This tender is for the supply and delivery and installation and commissioning of one or two automated radiochemistry synthesis platforms within the PET Tracer Production Unit (PTPU), located in the Bedson Building, Newcastle University, Newcastle, NE1 7RU. As a member of the UK Dementia Platform network, Newcastle University has been expanding its capability in this area, in the form of a GE 3T combined PET-MRI system that was installed at the Campus for Ageing and Vitality (CAV). Under the second phase of growth, a new clinical production and experimental radiochemistry facility will be initiated alongside the scanner at the CAV to service the PET-MRI programme. The radiochemistry platforms sought, will support ongoing Neuroscience research by facilitating GMP production of markers of abnormal protein aggregation (e.g. amyloid, tau, and alpha synuclein) in order to study in vivo, the pathology of dementias (Lewy body, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease) and provide proof of mechanism of interventions designed to reverse or
