Summary of the contracting process

The Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is facilitating a tender for the "Community Phlebotomy Service," aimed at providing essential community health services. This procurement process falls under a light touch regime and has an end date for submissions set for 2nd May 2017. The contract, valued at £4,000,000, is intended to commence on 1st April 2018 and conclude on 31st March 2022. Interested parties must register on the NHS sourcing portal to express their interest, following a market engagement event scheduled for early May 2017.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the healthcare sector, particularly those specialising in community health services or phlebotomy, to expand their offerings and client base. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to participate, as the contract allows for sub-contracting arrangements, which could potentially create additional growth avenues for smaller firms looking to collaborate with larger providers in the supply chain.

Community Phlebotomy Service

Notice Description

Community Phlebotomy Service. The CCG is offering a single contract to a single vendor who will be responsible for delivering all specified services and outcomes in return of the agreed financial payment, payable within the terms established as part of this tender process. The prime provider may sub-contract elements of the services to meet the requirements of the specification; however the prime provider is wholly responsible for the establishment of those sub-contracting arrangements and is liable for any payments throughout its supply chain.
