This work is intended to identify approaches which will complement and provide alternatives to or substitutes for conventional practice placement learning experiences. These may include but are not restricted to approaches involving simulation, augmented reality, remote engagement and technology enhance learning. Mapping of the outcomes-based proficiencies outlined in the 7 Platforms of the Future Nurse Standards against the potential to support the achievement of practice related outcomes through existing and emerging simulated and technologically enhanced learning approaches. The mapping should be underpinned by relevant international evidence from health care and other disciplines (e.g. engineering and aviation) and should be informed by the experience and expertise of leaders in these fields.
