    this is a procurement of an existing service that has been provided by Voodoo plc since July 2021 under Contract Reference C41885 (Commify) and for 23/24 via BC-18752. The existing BC ends 31/07/2024. This service has been used for the last 4 years as the secondary SMS provider for the key live NHS login service, with Notify.gov.uk as NHS logins primary solution for around 80% of all SMS to patients registering for the NHS login service, to access their patient records, order repeat prescriptions, make GP appointments, and request vaccination boosters in line with the Mobile First initiative. This is a backup service to ensure continuity of service and to prevent any downtime. The business impact of not extending the service would be the failure to provide a backup service to our primary SMS solution, leaving NHS login vulnerable to service downtime if the primary service is unavailable for any reason. As with the Business Case for Gov Notify for 24/25 BC - 22379, increased volumes as a result of Mobile First initiatives and National Direct Marketing campaigns commencing in January 23, have delivered a 25% increase in Registration volumes v 2023 volumes, and increases in login activity. Our 24/25 Predicted Usage forecast has therefore been increased based on actual daily volumes we have seen during this campaign, and an assumed 15% uplift on cost/text from £0.022 to £0.025 (similar uplift has just been applied by Notify from 01/04/24).
