Notice Information
Notice Title
Client Project Officer
Notice Description
The Council currently has a number of significant projects currently in delivery, with a very limited resource of nine staff available to deliver them. The delivery model used by the Council's Projects Service is to act as 'intelligent client' and to outsource the majority of the workload to external consultants. Council Officers act as Client Project Officer with their role predominantly being internal liaison with the client service (Regeneration or Estates) and the procurement and management of the external consultants. The external consultants are contracted to design the projects and procure a Principal Contractor to construct the works and be responsible for the project management, contract administration and supervision of the Principal Contractor's works. Rather than taking on a new employee for an uncertain workload, the Council intends to appoint a consultant, to provide a resource (a person) to work within the Projects Service undertaking the role of Client Project Officer for a number of these new projects. The use of the Term Service Contract will enable flexibility to call off services as and when projects come forward for delivery. The Client Project Officer will report directly to the Projects Manager.
