Summary of the contracting process

East Suffolk Council is seeking an e-commerce provider to support the establishment of a virtual high street platform for independent businesses in the region as part of their 'East Suffolk Digital High Streets' initiative. This project, funded through the Welcome Back Fund, aims to enhance the safe return of consumers to local high streets post-pandemic. The tender is currently active, with submission deadlines set for 13th September 2021. The procurement method is open, and the contract period is scheduled to begin on 1st October 2021 and lasts until 31st March 2022, primarily focusing on web page editing software development services.

This tender presents significant opportunities for local businesses, particularly those involved in e-commerce, web development, and digital services, to cater to a growing market seeking online purchasing options. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are especially encouraged to apply, as the project aims to foster local economic resilience and facilitate access to a wider customer base through a unified online platform. Companies that can offer innovative digital solutions and support local businesses in enhancing their online presence would be well-positioned to compete for this contract.
