Notice Title

Digital health education pathway for 14 - 19 year olds.

Notice Description

Health Education England are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award to Baker Dearing Educational Trust (BDET) The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal. HEE is seeking a provider to is to develop and run a two-year digital health education pathway for 14 - 19 year olds. The courses will be provided in partnership with 10 University Technical Colleges (UTCs), overseen by the Baker Dearing Educational Trust (BDET). To evaluate the programme and produce recommendations on the potential expansion of the programme to a wider number of UTCs and further education providers. HEE believes that it is highly unlikely for any other supplier to be able to provide the following skills/tools provided by Baker Dearing Educational Trust (BDET) for the following reasons: 1. BDET is the only organisation with the responsibility for supporting and coordinating the work of UTCs, as it was created specifically for this purpose. 2. The UTCs are publicly supported by the Department for Education, which has provided transitional funding grants for each of the past five years, totalling PS900,000 per UTC. 3. Work on creating digital health pathways has already started in around 10 UTCs, giving them theoretical and practical experience in this area. 4. With 48 UTCs across the country, the UTC programme has a critical mass that allows for interventions and improvements to be based on empirical evidence and data. 5. The UTCs have a number of well-known supporters including Professor Brian Cox, Professor of Particle Physics in the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Manchester and astronaut Tim Peake, which gives a unique profile for the system. https://health-family-contract-search.secure.force.com/?SearchType=Projects All communications should be made via the messaging function on the Health Family eTendering portal.
