Non-clinical HIV Care and Support
Notice Description
In partnership, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham (LSL) are reviewing and recommissioning the non-clinical HIV Care and Support Services for LSL residents living with or affected by HIV. The London Borough of Lambeth will commission services based on feedback and positive service changes as a result of COVID19. The estimated annual budget for this service is approx. PS350k per annum across the three boroughs. Current plans are to let the contract for 3 years, with the possible option to extend for a further two years. These services aim to: * Provide interventions based on needs assessment and local knowledge. * Reduce health inequalities of those living with HIV * Provide comprehensive 'whole person' support that impacts across the service user's physical, mental and emotional health and well-being, to help them better manage the direct and indirect effects of HIV on their day to day lives * Encourage people who are HIV positive, to follow a personal exercise/activity programme in order to increase fitness, self-esteem and quality of life * Have a presence in HIV clinical settings as well as in the community * To provide peer support, advice and means of engagement * To empower people living with HIV through information * To provide practical, emotional and intellectual support * To lessen the sense of isolation * To help people develop inner strengths and resources.
