Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence, C&C, Other is currently in the award stage for a contract titled "GB-London: Provision of Ambulances and Trained Crew to Support London District Events." This procurement process is aimed at the healthcare industry, specifically ambulance services. The contract is valued at £73,000 and will run from 17 April 2018 to 16 April 2023, with the tender period having closed on 13 April 2018. The location for service delivery is London, United Kingdom, where the contractor is expected to provide medical support at ceremonial events for armed forces personnel.

This opportunity is well-suited for businesses specialising in ambulance services and trained medical personnel. The requirement for civilian-sourced ambulances and crew presents a chance for private operators and larger healthcare organisations, particularly those with capabilities to provide comprehensive on-site medical support, to engage with the Ministry of Defence. Companies with experience in logistical management and emergency medical response may find this contract aligns well with their service offerings and can contribute significantly to their growth within public sector contracting.

Notice Title

GB-London: Provision of Ambulances and Trained Crew to Support London District Events

Notice Description

HQ London District is required to organise medical support to ceremonial and other activities. Medical cover for ceremonial events is routinely found from Service sources which provide Medical Officers (MOs), Combat Medical Technicians (CMTs) and Stretcher Bearer Teams. However, on site treatment facilities are also required to provide a suitable location for casualties to be assessed by a MO, a holding area for the casualty until they can be returned to barracks or as transport to hospital under emergency use conditions if required. These treatment facilities cannot be provided from Service sources. Civilian sourced ambulances with suitably trained crew are therefore essential to provide the necessary on site treatment, holding and transport facilities. This contract will only be for the provision of medical support to members of the armed forces and not for members of the public viewing ceremonial or other events.
