The Making Food Better programme was developed by the FSA to support small and medium sized enterprises to improve the nutritional quality of everyday foods available to NI consumers. A key objective of the Making Food Better programme is to monitor Northern Ireland consumers attitudes and behaviours towards food product improvement. The outcomes of this research are shared widely with various stakeholders including the food industry, trade associations, other government organisations and academia. Research aims: The current aims and objectives of the tracker are to monitor NI consumers': * Understanding of healthy eating; * Understanding of the daily recommended calorie intake; * Understanding of, and use of the multiple traffic light label; * Attitudes and behaviours towards reformulation including reduced portion sizes; * Attitudes and behaviours towards healthier options outside the home and, * The impact of promotions on consumer choice.
