Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence is initiating a tender for the "Navy - REPMUS/DYMS event 2022," focusing on research and development services and related consultancy within the defence industry. This tender process is currently at the planning stage, with an engagement end date set for 11th February 2022. Companies involved in technology development and system evaluation are encouraged to apply, especially those with experience in advanced defence technologies and maritime operations. Participation will require national sponsorship and adherence to confidentiality agreements, positioning this tender as an excellent avenue for SMEs aiming to expand their footprint in the defence sector.

Notice Title

Navy - REPMUS/DYMS event 2022

Notice Description

The Royal Navy Develop Directorate will consider Industry applications for Royal Navy endorsement to attend REPMUS 22 and DYNAMIC MESSENGER 22. The Develop Directorate will consider applications at a bespoke board on 11 Feb 22 in order to inform considerations at the REPMUS Initial Planning Conference (IPC) on 14 Feb. REPMUS and DYNAMIC MESSENGER are NATO exercises, conducted in the North Atlantic Portuguese Exercise Areas, designed to push forward capability development of Allied Maritime Uncrewed Systems and to improve Interoperability of systems as they proceed through development and into operational service. Both exercises complement each other with the former having a technology development focus, whilst the latter being focussed on integration of systems into operational task groups. Industry engagement is recognised as a key element for both exercises and many industry entities are already significantly involved. Information for Industry has already been distributed through the NATO Industry Armaments Group (NIAG) and a copy is attached as an annex to the public notices. Industry participation, outside of direct contracted support to RN capability development, requires national sponsorship to demonstrate or integrate a specific system for evaluation. The Industry participants must be headquartered in a NATO nation and may be required to attend specific and pertinent planning and operational briefings. Signature of a Non-Disclosure Agreement undertaking not to disclose sensitive or commercial will be required and in some cases a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) covering data sharing, IPR and liabilities. Applications will be considered against their ability to meet the goals and objectives set out in paragraphs 6 and 8 of the linked Information to Industry document above. Outline Schedule Register Interest: Closes at 0900 on 11 Feb 22 Board Consideration: 11 Feb 22 REPMUS/DYMS NATO Initial Planning Conference: W/C 14 Feb 22 (industry participation not required) Please see the attached pdfs for more information.
