Summary of the contracting process

The Wolverhampton City Council is seeking tenders for the "Procurement of Modular Construction Pilot Scheme for Housing Project," aimed at developing council housing via modular construction techniques in the West Midlands, England. This procurement is currently at the Tender stage, with a deadline for submissions set for 22nd February 2017. The project, classified under CPV code 44211100 for modular and portable buildings, has a budget of £600,000 and aims to be delivered through a JCT Design and Build Contract (DB) 2011 Edition. The contracting period is expected to commence on 5th June 2017 and conclude by 29th September 2017.

This tender presents an opportunity for construction firms, particularly those with expertise in modular building methods, to collaborate with the Wolverhampton City Council in delivering affordable housing. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to apply, as the council aims to engage a single supplier responsible for the complete project delivery. Companies that can demonstrate a strong track record in design and construction within this niche market will be well-positioned to secure this contract and contribute to the development of new housing in the area.
