Notice Description

The primary objective of this procurement is to improve the quality of inpatient care across the NHS and independent sector by raising awareness of and skills in promoting positive behavior for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism. The intended impact is a reduction in behaviours that challenge and the use of restrictive interventions, including physical restraint and isolation / seclusion. This project will provide training/learning at two levels 1. Basic PBS Awareness for anyone (including unregistered staff) working with people with LD and/or Autism 2. PBS Practitioner for registered staff who are responsible for developing support plans for individuals The Awareness training aims to reach as many people as possible and will take the form of a series of one day courses across Midlands and East. Participants could be any grade/staff level or job role with contact with people with LD/Autism, recognizing that all staff have a role in supporting positive behavior. The PBS Practitioner training will be targeted at three sites which will be distributed across Midlands and East of England, with up to 15 people in each location. HEE will specify these locations, according to where there is most need for this training.
