Summary of the contracting process

The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking expressions of interest for the Kingston Lacy Ground Source Heat Pump Project, aimed at installing a 165kW heat pump system at Kingston Lacy Estate in the UK. This procurement falls under the limited tendering method and is in the planning stage, with an estimated total value of £675,000 and a minimum budget set at £600,000. Key project milestones include the issuance of full specifications in January 2022 and the completion of major work packages by December 2022, with the contract period running from 2nd May 2022 to 30th December 2022. An open day will be announced to facilitate site visits for prospective contractors.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the renewable energy sector, particularly those specialising in ground source heat pump installations, construction, and electrical upgrades. Companies that are agile in delivering energy-efficient systems and are familiar with the NEC3 contract framework will be well-positioned to compete. Given the substantial project budget and the focus on quality and delivery within the selection criteria, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find it advantageous to apply, especially if they can form collaborations to enhance their bidding capacity.
