Summary of the contracting process

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking tenders for the "WYCA EDI Training Programme," aimed at providing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) training to its workforce. This initiative falls under the education and training services category and will take place in the Yorkshire and the Humber region, with an end date for submissions set for 21 April 2022. The contract period is expected to commence on 20 June 2022 and conclude on 19 June 2024. The procurement method is an open procedure, with a total budget of £45,000 allocated for the first year of the programme, which may be split into various lots based on training focus areas.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for training providers and consultancies that specialise in EDI-related programmes, particularly those capable of delivering accessible training in diverse environments. Businesses that focus on adult education services and have experience in organisational training, especially in promoting inclusive cultural practices, would be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. With approximately 700 staff members participating in the first session, providers can leverage this initiative to expand their client base while supporting the authority's strategic goals for service delivery and employee engagement.

Notice Title

WYCA EDI Training Programme

Notice Description

EDI training to the WYCA workforce to promote inclusive and progressive behaviours, encourage reflection, and support cultural change so we can meet the highest standards for service delivery and role model excellence. Essentially, the EDI training programme, is empowering colleagues' engagement with EDI, provides practical measures to link embedding EDI in all that we do, and how we do it, can be delivered in person making use of the office and non-office site-based environments for training delivery; accessibility of the training is essential for all to have a great training experience, including our front-line experienced colleagues. WYCA are currently in the process of strengthening EDI initiatives and associated plans. Resultantly, we are seeking the provision of EDI training programme in the forthcoming months. This project will be targeted at all employees at the Combined Authority, with approximately 700 employees completing the first session which will cover an introduction to EDI. With the remaining sessions being delivered to a split of staff depending on role need. The budget is PS45000.00 for the initial 1 year period, with the budget for year 2 to be agreed, with a possibility for this requirement to split into Lots for delivery based on the training focuses. All information provided in this and the Supplier Engagement Session is informal at this stage and all details will be refined and agreed at tender stage.
