Notice Description

Leg Ulcer and Wound Care Service (Reference 19.570) NHS Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford Clinical Commissioning Group Request for Information (RFI) The Commissioner is seeking the views of Healthcare Providers for a Leg Ulcer and Wound Care Service. The anticipated value of the Service is PS470,000.00 per annum. The Commissioner is considering a contract period of 3 years plus an option (option of the Commissioner) to extend the contract by up to a further 24 months. The Aims and Objectives of the Leg Ulcer and Wound Care Service are: The Leg Ulcer and Wound care service will effectively manage the care and outcomes of patients with chronic leg ulcers, pressure wounds, diabetic wounds or other wound types. In addition there will be a single pathway showing clear signposting for onward referral of lymphoedema and podiatry along with all other relevant service areas. The service is intended to drive improvements in the way in which services deliver care to patients and reduce unscheduled admissions to hospital for leg ulcer and wound care associated problems. The service will provide high quality specialist clinical care, advice and support, education and audit which will enable people to be effectively cared for in the community setting in a timely manner. The Leg Ulcer and Wound Care Service will manage patients in agreed clinical settings; and be available within a reasonable proximity for patient access. The service will focus on improving skills and competencies for staff in order to provide optimum quality care for service users and in accordance with knowledge and skills framework, NICE, RCN guidelines and act as an expert accessible resource to CCG and GP practice staff. This RFI process is designed to help the Commissioner form a view of the best way to commission the service and is not the beginning of a tender exercise.
