Agricultural Land and Drainage Tribunals (ALDT) and the Land Drainage Act 1991

Notice Description

The Environment Agency undertakes an advisory and where necessary enforcement role for Agricultural Land and Drainage under certain sections of the Land Drainage Act 1991. The Environment Agency carries out these functions on behalf of the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs (the Minister) may fulfil his obligations in respect of sections 28, 29 and 30 of the Act (as amended) under a specific delegation agreement. Local Authorities play no part in the enforcement process. In order to achieve this work, the EA requires a contractor who would be able to:- - Provide technical engineering reports to Agricultural Land & Drainage Tribunals (ALDT) on applications relating to land drainage matters covered by sections 28 and 30 of the act. - Attend tribunal hearings as expert witness. - Complete work required in connection with the fulfilment of the statutory requirements of the minister and ALDT. - Provide assistance to Environment Agency enforcement staff in implementing decisions of the tribunal which have not been resolved despite interventions of ALDT secretaries and the consultant. - Provide general services to assist the Environment Agency in their responsibilities and obligations in respect of ALDT and relevant land drainage matters
