Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence is currently undertaking a tender for the Project JASON, which involves the procurement of training services related to classified, specialist nuclear training and evaluation (T&E) to support defence tasks. Located in the United Kingdom, this procurement is at the tender stage, having been published on 25th September 2017. The tender period concluded on 22nd September 2017, with the contract set to start on 15th June 2018 and run until 14th June 2043, with a total estimated value of £52 million. The procurement is being conducted through a Competitive Dialogue process, classified as a non-OJEU procedure.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in training services, particularly those with expertise in defence-related sectors. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can demonstrate experience in delivering specialist training or educational services aligned with the nuclear sector would find this opportunity particularly relevant. The requirement for a permanent, fit-for-purpose facility means that organisations capable of providing bespoke training environments and demonstrating access to necessary academic skills will be in a strong position to compete and potentially win the contract.
