Notice Description

Highways England are seeking to engage a successful supplier to deliver a specific bespoke traffic modelling tool developed for Smart Motorways for managing and optimising traffic flows. This reduces congestion and improves road safety and air quality by setting Message Signs and Signals that respond to rates of vehicle flows. The Smart Motorway programme is moving at pace and the provision of this toolkit is critical to calibrating the algorithms that control the congestion speed limits. The toolkit shall also provide a monitoring function for the performance of Motorway Incident Support & Automatic Signalling (MIDAS). This opportunity is open to all interested parties who have been awarded a place on Lot 12 of the CCS Framework RM1089 (Traffic Management Technology 2).
