Summary of the contracting process

The Workers Educational Association (WEA), a national provider of adult education, is seeking tenders for its "WEB PRESENCE" project. This initiative aims to consolidate and enhance the Association's fragmented web presence, providing improved services for students and stakeholders. The procurement process is currently in the tender stage, with a deadline for expressions of interest set for 3rd July 2015, and the final submission date for tenders on 10th July 2015. The project is classified under the services category, specifically targeting web server software development, web page editing software development, and website design services. The service delivery location is primarily in London, United Kingdom, with associated postal code EC2A 4XW.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in digital services, particularly those focused on web development and design. Companies that offer web server and page editing software development services would be well-suited to compete, as would small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to expand their portfolios in the education sector. The successful vendor will play a pivotal role in creating an interactive online experience for the WEA's diverse audience, thus contributing to the organisation's mission of making learning resources accessible to local communities across the UK.

Notice Title

Workers Educational Association - WEB PRESENCE

Notice Description

Workers Educational Association is inviting tenders for the provision of WEB Presence. Background: The WEA is a national provider of adult education and our mission is to bring great teaching and learning to local communities. This means we take our courses almost anywhere, from clubs, community centres and village halls to schools pubs or where people work. The localised nature of our work has meant the organisation has developed a federalised model, with a national nine English regions and Scotland, along with around 400 volunteer run branches across the country. This structure has resulted in a web presence which is fragmented, partially regionalised, frequently unmanaged and which has orphaned website and social media account. With a new brand now in place, the Association has identified a need to consolidate our existing web presence, improve the services available to students and stakeholders through the websites and to establish a licencing process for local websites that sit outside our core web presence. Key to our new approach will be to create a more immersive and interactive experience for students, tutors, members and volunteers while providing clear pathways for visitors seeking information from the site. Tender Timescales: Suppliers that would like to take part in this tender process are invited to express interest upon which they will be given access to the full tender documentation through INTEND e-tendering system. Expressions of interest will only be accepted until 3rd July 2015, and the deadline for submission of the tender will be 10th July 2015. Please allow sufficient time to make your return.
