Summary of the contracting process

Sheffield City Council, acting on behalf of the Children Young People and Families department, is currently in the Tender stage for the provision of Appropriate Adult Services. This procurement aims to support children aged 10-17 and vulnerable adults aged 18 and over within the justice system in collaboration with South Yorkshire Police, and the Youth Justice Services in Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, and Doncaster. This tender, valued at £1,400,000, falls under the health and social work services category, with further classifications in social work and community action programmes. The tender process follows an open procedure and is accepting submissions until 30th September 2024, with the contract period set to commence on 1st October 2024 and end on 2nd October 2024. The geographical scope of the services is the Yorkshire and the Humber region in the United Kingdom.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities particularly for SMEs and VCSEs that specialise in health and social care. Organisations with expertise in social work, community action programmes, or services provided by youth associations are particularly well-suited to compete. Firms that can demonstrate a strong capability to support vulnerable groups within the specified age ranges and have experience in working collaboratively with law enforcement and youth justice services will find this opportunity advantageous. By securing this contract, businesses can not only expand their service delivery portfolio but also enhance their reputation in the public sector services market.
