Summary of the contracting process

The Department for Education (DfE) is currently in the planning stage for a market engagement event titled "DfE - Schools Water Strategy - Property Flood Resilience Market Engagement Event." This initiative falls under the flood-prevention works industry category, with a focus on property flood resilience (PFR) measures to reduce flooding risks in schools. The event aims to engage with potential suppliers and gather feedback on the deliverables, feasibility, risks, issues, market constraints, Modern Slavery, and Social Value considerations, and the proposed procurement route. The event's key milestone is the engagement end date, set for 3rd December 2024. This notice does not constitute a call for competition but rather invites experienced organisations to discuss and inform the requirements of the potential future procurement activities.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses that specialize in flood-prevention solutions, including the design and installation of PFR measures, project management, technical assurance, and flood risk assessments. Companies experienced in both grey (structural) and green (nature-based) flood prevention solutions will find this engagement particularly beneficial. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs), as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), are encouraged to participate. Organisations interested in attending should complete the registration form provided. This engagement is a valuable platform to understand upcoming requirements and potentially establish a strong business relationship with the DfE.
