Summary of the contracting process

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Digital Participatory Experiences." This initiative falls under the IT services industry category and aims to explore potential suppliers capable of providing engaging Digital Participatory Experiences for the BBC's online platforms. The milestone for engagement submissions is set for 20 June 2022, at 23:59:59 BST. Interested suppliers are encouraged to register their interest via the BBC's eSourcing portal and submit relevant information that could aid the BBC in understanding the market offerings, though this RFI process does not guarantee any contract awards.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses that specialise in digital content creation, software development, and online engagement solutions. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community social enterprises (VCSEs) would be particularly well-suited to participate, as the BBC is seeking a variety of innovative solutions to enhance its digital offerings. Engaging in this process could allow these businesses to demonstrate their capabilities and potentially secure future contracts with a prominent organisation like the BBC, as they inform the direction of upcoming procurements based on feedback received during this RFI.

Notice Title

Digital Participatory Experiences

Notice Description

This notice is to raise awareness of a Request for Information (RFI), to help the BBC understand what product(s) and services are available to enable it to provide Digital Participatory Experiences as part of its online output. The BBC uses Digital Participatory Experiences (DPEs), such as quizzes and personality tests, across its online output to create engaging content which appeals to all our audiences. The current solution is a third-party, fully managed platform which BBC staff can log into to author DPEs, which are then embedded on pages on the BBC website via iframes - all hosting of DPEs is therefore provided by the third-party. This RFI is intended to help the BBC better understand the market for suppliers of similar DPE solutions which meet some or all of the requirements outlined below. Please note that not all requirements below are fulfilled by the current solution. For the avoidance of doubt, any information provided to the BBC in response to this RFI will be treated as confidential and non-binding. No contract will be awarded as a consequence of this RFI process. The BBC welcomes responses to this RFI in order to inform our thinking prior to any potential next steps of our procurement exercise. Responding to this RFI will allow the BBC to: - build an understanding of current solutions available in the marketplace - gain feedback on: - the availability of solutions in the marketplace; - whether there is one solution to meet the needs, or whether these would need to be met by a variety of solutions; and - whether functionality not currently met is on a supplier's roadmap. Should you choose to respond to this RFI the BBC will take on board all responses when shaping any potential future procurement activity. Responding to this RFI is not a prerequisite for participation in a subsequent procurement, nor does it give any advantage in that procurement. The BBC would welcome responses to this RFI so that it can build an understanding regarding the current and future provision of the service. Additional information: The Request for Information (RFI) documents are available for unrestricted and full direct access, free of charge, at https://bbc.bravosolution.co.uk Additional information can be obtained from the above-mentioned address responses must be submitted to the above-mentioned address.
