Summary of the contracting process

The North of England Commissioning Support, acting on behalf of NHS England, is initiating a public procurement process for the "Prior Information Notice for North and Central Manchester Alternative Provider Medical Services." This contracting opportunity falls within the health and social work services sector and is located in the North West region of England. Currently in the planning stage, the engagement end date is set for 23rd February 2018. The goal is to re-procure existing GP practice contracts delivered from multiple medical centres across Manchester, ensuring that services continue to meet the needs of registered patients.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses looking to expand in the healthcare sector, particularly those specialising in medical services and primary care. Companies with capabilities to deliver enhanced and essential services, as per the General Medical Services (GMS) contracts, would be well-positioned to compete. Potential providers should also be prepared to engage with commissioners through market engagement initiatives, which may involve further Requests for Information (RFIs) to shape future service specifications.
