Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves NHS England, seeking consultancy services for the initiative titled "Covid19 Vaccines - Community Pharmacy Stand Up". This project aims to significantly increase the number of community pharmacies delivering Covid19 vaccines across England, targeting the establishment of approximately 150-200 additional sites. The procurement method used for this initiative was a selective process, specifically a call-off from a framework agreement. The tender period ended on 6 January 2022, with the contract duration set from 7 January 2022 to 31 March 2022. The estimated contract value is £69,960.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses, particularly those involved in healthcare consulting and management services. Companies that specialise in health services and consultancy, especially those with experience in facilitating the setup and operationalisation of healthcare frameworks, would be well-suited to compete. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find this to be a fitting opportunity, given the contract's focus on community pharmacy engagement during the ongoing pandemic response.

Notice Title

Covid19 Vaccines - Community Pharmacy Stand Up

Notice Description

The authority required Interim Consultancy to stand up further community pharmacies to deliver Covid19 vaccines. The team are following National guidance to significantly increase the number of Community Pharmacy sites delivering Covid19 vaccines (approximately 150-200 additional sites are needed, which is a 200% - 300% increase on the current number). We are undertaking an Expression of Interest process to support the sign ups of those pharmacies and this process requires significant resource. The process and governance model for assessing these Expressions of Interest requires definition to ensure transparency and effectiveness of data and information flow, clarity, consistency and fairness, and there is a short term need to increase resource to sign up Community Pharmacies, assure and onboard the significant increase in volumes expected.
