Notice Title

National Coach Services Database Support

Notice Description

The requirement is to put in place a contract for the support and maintenance of a database comprised of route and timetable data for coach services, which are not included in Traveline data. The name of this data set is the National Coach Services Database (NCSD). Whilst DfT owns most of the IPR, this particular support is focussed on NaPTAN and TransXChange (TXC). NaPTAN is maintained by DfT but is managed through a contract with transport data specialists, as we do not have the relevant expertise within the Department. TXC is an open data standard. However, we do not have the relevant skills, expertise and capability within DfT to provide support and maintenance on TXC data in-house at present.
