Notice Title

546 - Machine Learning Server

Notice Description

Aston University wish to procure 1 x high-performance Machine Learning GPU server for the development of complex deep learning models. This server will make our research more competitive by allowing us to develop and investigate complex models using large volumes of data, bridging the gap between the small-scale prototypes that can be developed using high-specs desktop PCs and the much larger, cloud-based solutions that some mature projects may require. The server will support the development of high-quality research not only on the development of new models, but also in a variety of applications including computer vision, robotics and bioinformatics. It will also facilitate the specific training of doctoral students in the main models and techniques of deep learning. Finally, we intend to use the server to further catalyse collaboration across the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, especially to form links between our Computer Scientists and colleagues applying machine learning in the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies (AIPT) and the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI). Aston has a maximum budget of PS54,906 this is including VAT, delivered duty paid (DDP), and all other charges & taxes, delivery, installation, commissioning and acceptance costs where Aston anticipates that a minimum of 12 months parts and labour warranty and a minimum of 36 month servicing and maintenance are included.
