Summary of the contracting process

Reading Borough Council is initiating a procurement process for the "Care and Support at Home" services, primarily classified under health and social work services. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with an engagement end date set for 21st September 2018. The competitive tender process aims to establish a dynamic purchase framework that will enhance domiciliary care service delivery. The proposed start date for service implementation is 1st October 2019, with events scheduled for October 2018 to engage interested providers.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the care services sector, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that possess relevant experience and innovative approaches. Companies that specialise in domiciliary care, technology solutions for health services, or outcome-oriented commissioning would be well-suited to compete. Engaging with the Council through intended market engagement events will provide valuable insights and foster potential collaborations to improve care and support services in the local community.
