Summary of the contracting process

The University of Nottingham is seeking tenders for the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of two benchtop flow cytometer systems: a 3-laser and a 4-laser configuration. This tender falls under the category of Laboratory, optical and precision equipment and is currently at the tender stage, having been published on 21st January 2022. The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is 24th February 2022, with the contract set to commence on 22nd March 2022 and conclude on 21st March 2023. The procurement process follows an open procedure, allowing a wide range of suppliers to participate in the bidding process, and the estimated contract value is between £150,000 and £178,000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in laboratory equipment and precision instruments, particularly those with experience in flow cytometry technology. Companies with the capacity for installation and maintenance of complex laboratory systems would be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, the open nature of the procurement allows not just larger firms, but potentially smaller niche companies, to showcase their capabilities in delivering high-quality scientific equipment and support, thereby fostering business growth in this specialised market.
