NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS AGEM CSU) on behalf of NHS Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (formally known as NHS Erewash, NHS Hardwick, NHS North Derbyshire and NHS Southern Derbyshire CCG) recently advertised an Expressions of Interest (EoI) from suitably qualified providers capable of delivering Orthotic Services to the patients registered with member GP Practices of NHS Derbyshire CCG's for which they are the responsible commissioner. Commissioners are in the process of undertaking a full service review and are inviting providers to attend a market engagement event to be held 15th July 2019 between 10am and 1pm - venue to be confirmed. If you have not already registered for this opportunity via the previous EoI and would like to attend the event to find out about any future opportunities, please respond with the following details by 12pm (noon) Friday 12th July 2019 to the address below. Registration is required for this event. Please provider up to a maximum of 2 attendees Names, Job Titles and contact information to Lisa.innes1@nhs.net by 12pm (noon) Friday 12th July 2019. Background: Orthotic service provision has the potential to achieve significant health, quality of life and economic benefits across the local health economy. To individual patients, the correct supply and fitting of orthotic devices can be a major factor in the management of their condition, improvement in the quality of life and the prevention of future problems. Evidence highlighted in the emPOWER patient led orthotics Charter states that for every PS1 spent, the NHS saves PS4. A recent national and local review of orthotics services has highlighted a number of issues in regards to current provision and commissioners are looking to commission a single Derbyshire out-patient service from a single specification across a number of community locations providing in reach services to secondary care where appropriate. Additional information: The aim of this Expression of Interest / market engagement event is to; 1. Allow the market visibility of the proposed opportunity; 2. Support the CCGs informed decision making on the future commissioning of this service (as applicable); 3. To help refine the future commissioning and procurement approach and; 4. To gauge the level of interest from the market of capable providers with capacity across Derbyshire to deliver the services illustrated above. Please note that AGEM CSU has change their E-procurement portal and therefore all future opportunities will be published through a new portal called EU-Supply. Please can you register on the new portal (free of charge) using the following the link: https://uk.eu-supply.com/login.asp?B=UK and select ' new supplier registration'. This will be used for any future correspondence regarding this service. Providers who have expressed an interest in this market testing exercise via the original process (PQQ ref: 536) will have received instructions on how to register for this event (as applicable). The deadline for registering for the event is by 12pm (noon) 12th July 2019. In preparation of the market engagement event, Commissioners have been reviewing the current NHS England model with a view to local adaptation across Derbyshire.
