Summary of the contracting process

The NHS South West - Acutes is seeking bids for a procurement titled "Living Well @ Home," which pertains to regulated home-based care or domiciliary care services. This open procedure procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a tender period closing on 16th March 2020. The contract is set to commence on 1st April 2020 and will run for five years, with the option to extend for an additional three years. The services will be delivered in the South West region of the United Kingdom, and the Trust is aiming to establish a pseudo framework agreement to enhance its care delivery capacity.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in home care and related health service sectors, particularly for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Interested businesses can benefit from the anticipated annual openings for new applicants, catering to an estimated demand for 7,000 hours of care per week. The opportunity to participate in this framework allows providers to diversify their service offerings beyond conventional domiciliary care and to engage with the Trust ahead of the final specifications and award criteria, facilitating the growth of various health service providers.
