Notice Title

Public responsive research panel

Notice Description

Met Office is seeking a provider to establish a standing public panel for a period of one (1) year to provide research into perceptions relating to weather forecasting. The primary aim of the specified requirements will be to provide a direct, responsive and cost-effective channel for the voice of the public as citizens, users or potential users of the Met Office products and services to inform changes to the PWS weather service. It will complement current research approaches by using qualitative research methodologies (and small-scale surveys). The creation of a representative standing public panel will allow the Met Office to measure the public's perceptions of accuracy on a real-time basis by asking them to compare forecasts to the weather observed at a given moment in time.
