Notice Information
Notice Title
Digital Participatory Experiences
Notice Description
The BBC uses Digital Participatory Experiences, such as quizzes or personality tests, to engage with our audience. These come in many formats. The BBC has licensed a product that will enable the continuation of these participatory experiences. The requirement is a Framework Agreement and we have appointed a single supplier to the Framework. Participatory experiences are fundamental to our content offering across Children's, Sport, News and BBC Three to help better engage our audience and build a deeper relationship through participation. In children's, these experiences are one of the most popular content types (second only to games), so any gap in production of these may result in a reduction in reach and retention of our youngest audience. Children's also has a long-term ambition for participatory experiences, that is closely aligned to the BBC's vision for a more personal, participatory BBC: - to attribute participatory experience engagement and results to signed-in users, - to reward participatory experience achievements and surface results in leaderboards/profiles, - to enable improved discovery of age- and ability-appropriate participatory experiences. The BBC products mentioned above vary in the amount of traffic they receive and the volume of participatory experiences they publish. Estimated typical figures are shown below. These figures are expected to increase over the lifetime of the contract. BBC Product: New participatory experiences published per week: Impressions per week (all participatory experiences) Children's: 25 to 30 : 550 000 to 700 000. Sport: 5 to 10: 750 000 to 900 000. News: 5 to 10: 975 000 to 1 125 000. BBC Three: 20 to 25: 55 000 to 250 000. The estimated duration in this notice is 600 000 GBP, however this is based on a full term of 4 years and an expansion of the current impressions and BBC Products.
