Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Shared Business Services has initiated a procurement process for 'Radiology Assessments' aimed at delivering essential health services to the local population in London. This direct award marks an interim contract period starting from June 1, 2018, and concluding on March 31, 2019, with a total contract value of £1,309,833. The decision for a single tender action arises from the need to maintain service continuity while developing a new integrated care model, which is expected to be rolled out in the following year. The procurement process is currently in the Award stage, having been published on April 16, 2018.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in health and social work services, especially those that can provide radiology-related capabilities or experience in integrated healthcare delivery. Companies, particularly Small to Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), that specialise in medical services, diagnostic imaging, or have a strong background in supporting clinical pathways could benefit greatly from future engagement with the NHS Brent CCG. As the new model for service provision is developed, it will open avenues for capable suppliers looking to align with evolving commissioning requirements and integrated healthcare strategies.

Notice Title

Radiology Assessments

Notice Description

The service delivers essential capacity to ensure continuation of Community Radiology Assessments that will support the delivery of good patient experience and outcomes. This notice refers to a direct award of an interim contract to ensure continuity of essential health services to the local population whilst a new integrated care model is developed during 2018/19 ready for procurement in 2019/20.The CCG has assessed that it is not in the best interests of patients to change service provision at this time, but to retain a consistency of service provision until the CCG has finalised its future requirements. The 10 month interim service will support the CCG to review its commissioning intentions, in particular clinical pathways and demand management approaches. The new model of service to be established will ensure integrated pathways to deliver holistic patient care aligned with NWL strategies. This interim contract award is necessary to enable NHS Brent CCG to develop and validate its specified requirements and commissioning approach for the long term future of the service. The CCG plans to engage with the market during 2018 to assist development of its future specification of requirements, with the intention of informing the process to award a substantive contract to deliver the new model of care from 2019. Market engagement will commence during 2018.
