Summary of the contracting process

The Coal Authority is launching a tender for "Ground Stabilisation Works by Drilling & Grouting," classified under ground-stabilisation work with additional drilling and exploration tasks. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the engagement end date set for 13th November 2019. This initiative will take place within the coalfields of Great Britain, involving several regions including Scotland, Cumbria, North Wales, South Yorkshire, and Somerset. Successful contractors will enter a four-year framework under the NEC4 contract terms, with options to apply for three distinct lots based on the type of equipment and access conditions.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in geotechnical and drilling services, particularly those with capabilities in both unobstructed and restricted access environments. Companies looking to leverage this opportunity should have expertise in ground and mine entry stabilisation, as well as compliance with relevant UK standards and specifications for drilling and grouting. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, making this a valuable chance for those in the construction, environmental engineering, and specialist contracting sectors to expand their market presence.
