Notice Description

LB Hackney has a significant demand for SEN school places. This project comprises delivering an equipment store to enable the reorganisation of existing areas to be used as a classroom space for the September 2024 intake of pupils. This classroom will provide space for an additional 8 pupils at the school, this will negate the need to place 8 students at an out-of-borough SEND school at a much higher cost. The provision of this facility fits within the government policy of creating new and improving existing facilities for Children and young people with SEND and Hackney's SEN policy within the borough with the economic, sustainability and social benefits to families that this brings. The cost avoidance to Hackney by providing these places for the academic year from September 2024 equates to PS250,000.
