Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by Arden & GEM CSU on behalf of NHS England - Midlands & East and NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group, is aimed at securing Primary Care Medical Services for two practices: Kirkley Mill Surgery and Nelson Medical Practice. The contract is set to commence on 1st November 2018 and will last for nearly five years until 30th September 2023, with a tender period ending on 19th June 2018. These services fall under the medical practice services category and will be delivered in the East of England, specifically in Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth. This open procurement process allows for broad participation from suitable providers.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for healthcare providers, especially those specialising in primary care services, to expand their operations within growing communities. With significant housing developments planned in the areas served by the practices, there is potential for increased patient lists, which can lead to higher revenues. Both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations are particularly encouraged to participate, as the procurement is designed to foster competition and inclusivity in the healthcare sector.
