Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for the Nottinghamshire and Nottingham APMS Contracts, which encompasses four lots for Primary Care Medical Services. Key dates include an engagement end date set for 18th November 2019, with the new contracts expected to commence between 1st September 2020 and 1st April 2021. This procurement falls under the medical practice services classification and aims to evaluate market interest in providing essential, additional, and enhanced healthcare services across Nottinghamshire, UK. Interested providers should note that this is a market engagement exercise and any future procurement will be advertised separately.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for growth for businesses specialising in primary care and healthcare services, particularly those with experience in servicing local populations and managing medical infrastructures. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) would be well-suited to compete for these contracts, particularly those that can offer innovative and adaptable service delivery in line with NHS standards. Providers should prepare to demonstrate their capability in delivering essential services with flexibility, as contract length considerations range from four to ten years, thereby allowing for sustained partnerships.
