Notice Description
MPS is seeking training ammunition to compliment the recently awarded Ops Ammo. 9 x 19mm (operational ammo is 147 grain) (rough MPS usage estimate 1.7m - 2m per year) . 115 - 148 grains TFMJ (low tox) non hollow point projectile in a brass case . Frangible type round also required for steel plate targets . Should a suitable lead free frangible type round be identified then it may be acceptable as a single general purpose training round 5.56 x 45mm (.223) (operational ammo is 62 grain) (rough MPS usage estimate 500k - 750k per year) . 50 - 70 grains TFMJ (low tox) non hollow point projectile in a brass case . Frangible type round also required for steel plate targets . Should a suitable lead free frangible type round be identified then it may be acceptable as a single general purpose training round 7.62 x 35mm (300BLK) (operational ammo is 111 grain) (rough MPS usage estimate 180k- 200k per year) . 105 - 125 grains TFMJ (low tox) non hollow point projectile in a brass case . Frangible type round also required for steel plate targets . Should a suitable lead free frangible type round be identified then it may be acceptable as a single general purpose training round This will be a National Framework available to all UK police forces. Exact details of the requirement will be included in the Tender Pack, which will be published (likely late summer 2023) on Coupa (https://supplier.coupahost.com/quotes/public_events) Additional information will be available on the above mentioned address.
